Frequently asked questions
Is the per-minute rate really all-in?
Yes. The all-in rate includes the platform, managed STT/LLM/TTS, and telephony on Rayvoc numbers. There is no separate orchestration fee, no per-event surcharge, and no transfer-time billing. If you bring your own models or carrier, those line items simply drop out of our price — you pay your providers directly.
How does pricing work with bring-your-own models?
When you connect your own OpenAI-compatible LLM, TTS, or STT, you pay those providers directly at their rates and Rayvoc charges the lower BYO per-minute rate for orchestration, media, and telephony.
What does BYOC change about the bill?
With BYOC SIP trunking, calls ride your carrier contract — you pay your carrier for minutes and Rayvoc does not charge telephony at all. There is no SIP surcharge for connecting your own trunk.
How are concurrent channels billed?
A channel is one simultaneous call. The trial includes 1 channel; paid accounts add channels as needed. You are never billed for idle channels on usage-based plans.
Why do other platforms look cheaper than they are?
Most advertise an orchestration-only rate (often $0.05/min) that excludes the LLM, speech models, and telephony. Real production costs commonly land at 2–3× the advertised number. We wrote a full teardown in Voice AI pricing explained.
